01

Clear Gospel

We believe in the good news of Jesus Christ — he lived perfectly, died sacrificially, rose victoriously, and calls us to follow him. We receive the free gift of salvation through faith and repentance. God is living and true. We were once under his wrath, but in his great love he sent his Son to die in our place and rise from the dead, so that we could turn from idols and wait in faith on his return.

Romans 10:9 · 1 Thessalonians 1:9–10

02

Evangelistic Focus

We believe Christians should share their faith boldly in a lost world to call sinners to place their faith in Christ. Mack Stiles defines evangelism as teaching the gospel with the aim to persuade. In evangelism we share what Jesus has done in order to see people place their faith in him. Our focus is on reaching those captured in sin, blind to their spiritual reality, and spiritually bankrupt — because Jesus proclaims liberty to the captive, recovery of sight to the blind, and good news to the poor.

2 Corinthians 5:11 · Luke 4:18–21

03

Studiers of the Word

We believe God's Word not only trains and equips Christians but more importantly proclaims the good news of salvation clearly. We hold out this truth to students by plainly reading and studying Scripture together, believing the messenger holds no authority — only the message does. God's Word is authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient. We want students to be like the Bereans who searched the Scriptures to verify what they heard.

John 17:17 · 1 Timothy 3:15 · Acts 17:11

04

Local Church Centered

We believe the primary way Christians grow is through membership in a local church — a formal, mutually-recognized relationship of accountability and responsibility. It is through the local church that we sit under the preached word, grow up in love, learn to imitate wiser saints, submit to authority and accountability, and provide a visible witness to the watching world. We steer students to join a healthy, gospel-preaching church early in college with a trajectory of being in the church for life.

Matthew 28:18–20 · Acts 2:42–47 · Hebrews 10:24–25

Outreach on Campus

We meet students where they are--through campus clubs, dorms, sports teams, Greek life, and their academic majors. We don't assume the gospel with anyone. We build genuine relationships, ask meaningful questions, and invite students into evangelistic Bible studies.

Discipleship in the Local Church

We steer Christian students to join a healthy, gospel-preaching local church early in college so they grow through God's appointed means of discipleship. Staff and older students disciple younger students in prayer, evangelism, Bible reading, and community.

Leaders During and Beyond College

By junior year, the goal is a student who has become a growing church member, is actively evangelizing fellow students, is capable of leading a Bible study, and is discipling younger students to do likewise.

“AC has been a place to encourage me in my faith, teach me more about the Bible and God's character, and, in everything, point me back to Christ.”

Jessie H.

“AC has been by far my favorite thing about going to UofL. I've made my best memories in college (especially on Spring Break), learned how to lead Bible studies, grown in my love for Jesus and sharing His good news, and have truly made so many friends!”

Elia T.

“Being a part of Across Campus gave me an example of a solid Christian community and helped me to know the importance of joining a local church body. For over a year in AC, I was still an unbeliever, but the staff and student leaders always worked hard to answer my questions and point me towards the faith. Now, I am so grateful to get to grow as a Christian alongside other students and to know I've made lifelong friends through AC.”

Lauren W.

“I did not come to know the Lord until I joined AC. The Lord used reading through the book of Romans and my friendships with staff and students, to save me in the beginning of the Fall.”

Jon M.

“It was at AC where I first heard the gospel, and it changed my life. Since becoming a Christian, and going to AC large group, Rooted, and Bible studies my faith has grown tremendously.”

Owen S.

“Across Campus played a vital role at the very beginning of my walk of faith by proclaiming and exalting the true, historical Jesus presented in the Biblical Scriptures. By keeping the Gospel at the center, this ministry grounded me in the profound reality that we cannot have true life nor be made right with God without Christ.”

Rami D.

“Across Campus' Bible centered ministry is how I became a Christian. I went from being a nominal Christian in a Bible study to becoming a Christian and desiring to study the Bible. I now lead Bible studies and help other college students read their Bible and follow Jesus Christ because of Across Campus.”

Nate T.

“GCF has grown me the most in my confidence of knowing and sharing the gospel. Through student leader trainings and regular discipleship, my knowledge and my love for the Lord have grown exponentially!”

Eleeyse G.

“I was not a Christian before I came to college. But through the faithful witness of both Sovereign Hope and GCF, God convicted me of my sin and gave me a new heart. Now I love being apart of this great community and glorifying the Lord Jesus as our ultimate source of joy and happiness.”
